I’m Wes, the owner and craftsman behind Weathered Patina Works. I have always been a hands-on, do-it-myself individual with a deep interest in creative and artistic mediums. At a young age, I was skilled at drawing and design, but I never pursued it beyond what was necessary to accomplish a task. Once I began working on my own car and home, I naturally started accumulating the tools and skills needed to reach my goals. As I learned and developed, my focus shifted toward quality of materials, thoughtful execution, and—most importantly—creating something one of a kind. The process of learning, building with my own hands, and of course collecting more tools (toys) gradually became an obsession.

I struggled with my health over the past few years, and it affected my life in countless ways. The only thing that consistently brought me solace was working with my hands. When I found myself unable to work or carry out normal daily activities as my health declined, it was creating, building, and losing myself in the process that truly helped me heal. I am grateful that so many things fell into place, and that a lifetime of experiences and skills ultimately led me to this point.

That early curiosity and experimentation led me to different creative mediums, and my wife and best friend helped bring one of my interests to life—blacksmithing. Everyone loves Forged in Fire, right? I had a forge and an anvil, but I didn’t yet have a space to fully commit to the work, so the “shed” was built. What started as simple storage quickly became something far more meaningful. My passion for forging naturally expanded into woodworking, and at some point the line between work and hobby disappeared entirely. Now, I don’t see projects—I see materials and ask a single question: what if? That shed is no longer just a workshop; it has become my temple.

The vision for Weathered Patina Works is to be a premium, bespoke brand rooted in genuine craftsmanship. I will never mass-produce or outsource my work. Even if I am fortunate enough to pursue this full time, I am still one person, and I take the time necessary to ensure quality in every piece. While I will offer a small selection of staple items that align with my passions and demand, many of my creations will be one-offs—pieces that exist only once. My goal is to create work that brings function, joy, and inspiration for a lifetime. Pieces that are valued beyond a monetary transaction or basic utility. Something you love enough to hand down, keep in the family, and not simply discard. I want to build lasting memories and meaningful relationships through passion and honest craftsmanship.

I also believe in giving back. If I am fortunate enough to build a steady and sustainable business, I plan to support others so they can receive the help they need to live fulfilling lives.
